Best Seat in the House!

I finally broke down and bought myself a new chair for my living room. While I loved my new/old chair, it just seemed too big and assuming in our cozy (read smaller) living room. IKEA to the rescue!
I bought this Jennylund chair and had it shipped to me.

I LOVE IT!

My mum bought me this beautiful wool blanket (from Homesense/Homegoods) for my upcoming birthday and I love its felted flower embellishments:

Is it strange for a chair to make someone so happy?

  4. It all looks beautiful Linda!!! I also picked up my two white ikea slipcovers for my two chairs...though sadly, one didn't fit. What I thought was a Karlstad chair is actually a bjornhult...so I plan to reorder...oh well, they still look great in my bedroom for now! Oh, and your blanket makes me want one even more, but in my house...forget it!

  5. Love your chair and I really like the throw also. I think everyone needs to have their favorite chair. Mine is really starting to wear, but still my favorite and always the most comfortable of any. Enjoy yours. Hugs, Marty

  6. Linda-That room looks beautfiul...serene and tranquil. It feels like "water meets soft sky" to me. Gorgeous..and I love the chair. Your Mom can adopt me anytime she wants to if she gives gifts like that! It's perfect! Diana

  7. Such a great shot Linda, I'd want to curl up and read there for hours. You wanna bet a chair can do that to me too. I have two value village finds with great lines (one is a custom design and the other looks like one of Sarah Richardson's custom chairs) but no budget yet to redo them and dream of their day of transformation.

    Love the blanket, so pretty!

  17. How funny, Linda, because I was thinking that your chair reminded me of my Ikea Ektorp chairs! Except this one has a higher back to it than the Ektorp. Lovely! I love my Ikea chairs, too. I just bought a white slipcover for the one I keep in my master bedroom sitting area this year {$29.00 for a good slipcover!}. I love the way it looks in its new slip!

  21. Wow that blanket is amazing. I love that it's from Home Goods. As I was reading this post I was thinking "Please tell us where that find is from, please". I don't think it's ever silly to get so excited, if only more things made us so excited as adults. :)

  22. That corner looks so cozy and comfortable and stylish all at the same time. Did you take that amazing photo? It totally looks like a magazine worthy styling job, with the beautiful throw on the ottoman, the silver dollar branches, and the adorable blue clock. Now go grab yourself a cup of tea and a lovely decorating magazine and plunk yourself down in your cozy corner and enjoy!

  23. Are you kidding?!! Where ever the inspiration comes from, go with it! I say we need to be excited about lots of "little" things throughout the day to keep us going. Your new corner of goodies is darling, and the retro lamp...ADORABLE! Enjoy your spot!

  35. The sofa looks nice! It matched your house's interior. Last week, I was also able to purchase a sofa which matches our tile. Clearwater is how my husband calls my selection of furniture - a mixture of white and blue.
