I was so honoured when Andy at Poppies at Play asked me to be involved in her Parade of Homes Tour. There are some very beautiful homes being featured, and I hope my little house can keep up! Be sure to scroll all the way to the end of the post so you can be directed to the next house on the parade.
Let the tour begin!

Welcome to our home!
We live in a back-split bunglaow/rancher which we built in the summer of 2006. It is the fifth house we built, and much of it was done by us. We don't shy away from DIY projects, which is a good thing since our budget doesn't usually allow us to hire out that which we can do ourselves.
I hope you enjoy the tour. It is always a work in progress as we think up new ways to improve and make the most of our living space, both inside and out.

I really like your home. However, one question...why did you build a mini laundry room INSIDE the bathroom?I thought that was only done in the old days when home builders had no clue what they were doing?
ReplyDeleteHi anonymous,
ReplyDeleteWell, because we don't live in a Mcmansion and didn't want the laundry room in the basement, we tucked it into the bathroom (in what would have been a linen closet, that I kept open/doorless for ease of use). Not sure I understand the question (or the sentiment) but I can assure you my "builder" knew what he was doing. :)
I don't mind being one of those old school people who don't have the perfect set-up for everything my heart ever desired in a house. We get along just fine without the perfection!
Cheers,
Linda :)
I am beyond ecstatic at finding your blogs through bloglines - especially this post. We're in the house market right now, concentrating on historic homes...I've my heart set on a particular home with a great floor plan from the living room, flowing through the dining room and kitchen...my favorite color is green, DH's is blue and I want a cottage-light feeling. I've had color samples that look very close to those shown for the rooms in this post...and while on these little chips they look wonderful together, it's always a little scary to invest $$ in something that money and timewise aren't necessarily going to be "fixed" soon if it isn't a winner. Seeing them blend so prettily together here has helped confirm that I need to trust more in what my tastes are. Looking forward to visiting and will be subscribing via bloglines.
ReplyDeleteAnd, every little smidgen is totally delish!
ReplyDeleteWarm blessings,
Spencer

ReplyDeleteYour home sweet home is 1000% my style!! LOVE it all...the laundry room is my favorite I think though. Wow, I'm inspired in an excited sort of way, lol. :D

ReplyDeleteI've really enjoyed the Parade of Homes and all the different houses and styles. Yours "speaks" to me -- maybe it's the colors. LOVE all the white, the soft aqua and blue, the shots of red in the reading nook. Absolutely beautiful!
