Remember a while back when I revealed this wanton desire? How hot envy stabbed at my heart in a most unvirtuous way after seeing this veritable round-up of perfection? How could a girl not be envious? It seems everyone had one. Jen had one. Jerusalem had one. Heather`s was divine. Ki had a really cool one...of more ample proportions...a real renaissance girl. Margo showed hers off, bejewelled and lovely. It was more than I could bear.
The hunt was on.
Which was a bit of a joke, really, if you knew what I have to pick from for vintage shops and the like. Treasures like that don`t come `round these parts too easily.
But Rose had other ideas.
By the way, have you met Rose?
Yes. Rose found her way to me, ever so humbly, on my most recent trip to my favourite antique shop. I almost missed her. She was hiding in the dress-up corner of the shop, under a long, black coat. I rescued her. Yes, I did..for the sweet tune of $40.
It made my weekend, yes it did!!
Oh, and her name? Well, Rosie would be the name I would give to another daughter, if I lost my mind and decided to have another child (which I won`t!) Of course, Rose just fits better for my dress form. Now I have the perfect spot to display my large collection of vintage aprons.

Believe me, they look way better on Rose than me!!

I L-O-V-E love vintage aprons. What a fun little find for you! Those little ladies are so expensive. Good for you for snatching that little thing up!
That is awesome. I want one too. Whaaa!
Congratulations on the new addition to your family :)They do seem to be popping up everywhere. I call the mannnequin I dress at work "Bertha"--she's a little on the hippy side :)
LOVE rose! I have been on the hunt for a dress form too, no luck here yet:( I passed up on one at an estate sale a few years ago and now am kicking myself!!
Are you telling me you got this great dress form for $40??!! If you found her in Texas, you could double to triple that amount...I know, I've been looking for years now!!! Good job! Smiles, KIM
Linda, so glad you finally found Rose. She's an easy addition to the family (versus having another child--LOL)! And what an amazing price! The ones I saw in Texas were around $500! I like your price so much better. I just picked one up around a month ago at one of our occasional sales for about $80. Still not bad. Aren't they fun!

Pretty! And a great way to get all your vintage aprons and whatever else out where you can enjoy them. (Ki's is scary. And in need of clothing.)
I have my mom's from the late 50's. It's black and white gingham with red hearts and black spades sewn on it (like in a deck of cards). I LOVE it but am so afraid of anything happening to it...that it just sits in a box. Sigh. Maybe I should be searching for a dress form for it ! :)
Rose is L-O-V-E-L-Y!!! What is her secret for maintaining her figure at her age?! Seriously, she could pass for late '20's, were it not for the fact that we know from whence she came! I've always wanted one, yet I continue to fill the corners of my house with other things. NEED. TO. REPRIORITIZE.
What a fun find - love how you dressed her up.
Rose looks just like me.
so glad you found Rose - I had been keeping my eye open for one for you here on the south shore - hadn't had any luck - there is an apron exhibit until the 15th
