By the Pool Transformations...

Remember this little treasure? Found at a real, bonafide junk spot? Well, look at it now, doing serious lifeguard duty:

The handyman was busy, too, building a changing area so wet feet don't have to track through my house. This is the before photo:

And the after:

Need to see it up close?

I made this little light holder, junk style, because I was trying to copy Ki and her infinite creativity:

Oh, and I gave a make-over to this little beach chair. It used to have Bratz fabric on it (ick!!) so I removed it and sewed up this striped Sunbrella fabric and painted the frame. I also picked up the vintage cooler for $10 at a thrift shop. It is my favourite shade of blue:

I will be unplugged for a few days while I enjoy some summer family time, and will return any emails as soon as I can. I want to thank everyone so much for the kind wishes and comments you gave me with regards to the new magazine. Ki, Matthew and I are overwhelmed and thrilled with the outpouring of support and excitement over this endeavour. Flea Market Style magazine will not fail to please, I can guarantee you that!! We will bring you more updates and answer any questions you have once the blog is up and running...we are aiming for mid-August.
Watch for it!!

Fantastic, no more popping into the house to change, getting water all over the floor. I love the maharichi style of the shack...the design is so much fun!!

Enjoy being "unplugged" for your vacation. Hope that it's great!

I love that changing room. Can I have one even if I don't have a pool? This reminds me a little of your outdoor shower post from last summer. I still want one of those, too!

very nice, I love the little changing area. WE had a pool for years, and little wet feet were always stomping through.
Great ideas.

Wow! What an excellent job your husband did and how creative you are!! If I ever have a pool I will have to do that because I wouldn't want the floors getting ruined by all the water. Love it!

Looks Great! I love the cooler!!! I've been looking for a Coleman vintage cooler for a few summers now...haven't found the perfect one yet...and definitely not for $10!!! I didn't know they came in that color - it's my favorite color. I have a feeling my hunt has now just become a bit harder! Wish me LUCK!!! : )

There is a new magazine! Thank heavens! I've been saying to bloggers, why on earth doesn't someone come out with a magazine geared to us vintage/junk/flea market folks? Glad to see someone knows we're out here!

Sorry, I got so excited I forgot to comment about the pool area! I just love that space in the corner. Makes it "magazine photo ready!" Vintage coolers are the best. You've fixed this up superbly!

Hi Linda,
I just discovered your wonderful blog via the BlogHerAds newsletter. Congratulations on your new Editor at Large position! I'm really into vintage stuff, and the magazine sounds like it's going to be right up my alley.

Just yesterday I made a spur of the moment tour through one of my favorite junk malls and managed to spend some birthday cash in an incredibly short period of time. Lots of great finds, including a neat little vintage red cooler I instantly fell for. But now I'm drooling over your fabulous blue one since it's my favorite color. And for $10 - what a score. I decided to splurge on mine for $26, 'cause that's what birthday cash is for, right? ; ). Love your beach chair, too.

I'm looking forward to becoming a regular reader of your blog - and the magazine. : )

Hi Linda...

Well, if that's not the best little idea ever! Not that there are many pools here in the NW....not much need. All we have to do is go outside and we can "run through the sprinkler"....I love that color of blue too...YUMMY..

Blessings,
Spencer
